A host of Canadian leaders came together to show their support for the cause upheld by the Baycrest Foundation. Rolex too showed its support by sponsoring the event and ensuring the presence of Rolex Canada’s CEO, Victor Royce at the gala. Six community leaders came together for the dance competition that was organized to raise funds for charity. The list of community leaders scheduled to perform at the gala included well known philanthropist Wendy Switzer Myles; co-owner of Toronto Argonaut, David Cynamon; the CEO of Rose Corporation, Sam Reisman; vice-chairman Deloitte, Garry Foster; vice-president RSM, Richter Robert Harlang; and renowned artist Tootsie Halbert.

The leaders were paired with professional dancers from Toronto Dance Inc. and trained for almost two months to be able to give a spectacular performance at the gala night. The ballroom dance competition had been fashioned after the hit series “Dancing with the Stars�. The annual gala from the Baycrest Foundation was held at the Sheraton Centre in downtown Toronto. Joining him behind the wheel would be Bill Lester, Dion von Moltke and Kasper Andersen.

Starworks Motorsports is set to debut in the 2010 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series with a No. 7 BMW Riley. Bill Lester, who would be giving Mike Forest company behind the wheel, was a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver. Mike Forest will be eagerly awaiting his stint at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, as according to the Edmonton resident, this is one race which encompasses top drivers from every discipline and provides them a common platform to compete on. Mike Forest stated that it was always been astonishing to look at the car after the race was over, as that showed how much the car had been through and still kept on running. He also stated that it was a delight to look at the list of entries for the endurance race and a privilege to race against such talent.

Mike Forest intends to take a different approach to the race this year. In the previous sessions Mike Forest chose to race in the early hours of the morning. However, this season he intends to be well rested before the race and avoid taking a nap during the 24 hours. Mike Forest mentioned that though the team was new, it had a lineup that was ambitious and held good experience. He stated that the level of competition at the Rolex 24 at Daytona was always very high and so to be simply confident about one’s driving skills or team was not enough. He stated the team aimed at getting into the top five at the endurance race, and wanted to maintain a good average time for laps rather than posting a single fastest lap. Mike Forest also expressed his affinity towards running in the faster GT class. He mentioned that the Daytona Prototypes were fantastic cars as they facilitated close and tough racing. Mike Forest went on to say that the endurance race is no longer about cruising, and each second on the tracks counts. He also added that in the 2009 season the winners were decided by a gap of seconds, which was proof enough to show how competitive the race has really become. Mike Forest stated that the close and tough competition is not only a rush for the drivers and the teams, but also a great delight for the fans and audience in general.
