Voting For ISAF Rolex World Sailor Of The Year Awards 2009 Concludes

ISAF Rolex World Sailor 2009

With the voting process already wrapped up, everyone’s attention is now focused towards the presentation and dinner at the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards that will take place on Tuesday 10 November 2009. The scheduled venue for the announcement of winners is the Busan Yacht Club, Busan, Korea. After all the grueling sailing events and tough competition that the sailors go through being rewarded at this prestigious ceremony makes it all worth it. Each of the winners shall be honored with the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award Trophy and a unique Rolex timepiece.

Rolex stands for excellence in the world of watch making and through its association with sporting events it hopes to bring forth and reward the sporting world’s best talent. Being a part of Rolex sponsored events itself is an honor for any sportsperson. All the competing sportspersons are the best in their field and also bring nothing less than the best to the competition. However, when the reward happens to be a Rolex timepiece along with the trophy, for sure it gives them the extra motivation to deliver par excellence.

ISAF MNAs (Member National Authorities) is the national governing body for sailing the world over. Each MNA is supposed to vote for the one male and one female sailor who they believe is the most deserving and rightful candidate for the award. This year too the ISAF MNAs have selected the deserving winners for the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards. The nominees and winners were chosen on the basis of their achievements during the qualifying period beginning September 1 2008 to August 31 2009.

ISAF Rolex World Sailor Of The Year Awards Trophy

The female nominees this year include Sam Davies (GBR), Hilary Lister (GBR), Blanca Manchón (ESP) and Anna Tunnicliffe (USA). The male nominees include Pascal Bidégorry (FRA), Michel Desjoyeaux (FRA), Paul Goodison (GBR), Torben Grael (BRA) and Nathan Outteridge (AUS). It is a close call and the MNAs have a tough decision on their hands as all of the nominees have proved their excellence on the waves. To be able to compete in Rolex events and emerge as the winner itself is quite a task and tests sportspersons to the extreme. And with the world’s best sailing talent making it to the nomination list, the MNAs had some very difficult choice to make.

Each nominee has a brilliant list of achievements to add to his or her credit and thereby to the confusion of the MNAs. With the Busan Yacht Club in Korea chosen as the picturesque venue for the announcement, the effort of the sailors and the MNAs would be aptly rewarded. The club is located close to the famous Haeundae Beach and Dalmaji Hill. The club also offers shark diving at the Busan Aquarium. From sailing with the sharks at the competition to diving with them at the Busan Yacht Club will definitely help the sharks of the sailing world bond with the sharks of the ocean. Rolex not only makes its events special but the reward ceremonies prove to be as extravagant as the competitions.

Torri Higginson And The Rolex Cellini Danaos Know That Details Rule The World

Tori Higginson

Rolex watches are always in demand from people who invest in watches and don’t merely buy them. Rolex is a name in excellence when it comes to watch making and when Rolex tabs an association with the wearer it does so for a lifetime. The Cellini collection had been founded with the specific purpose of getting to people what they liked. Rolex had spent years deciphering the individual tastes of people and hence making Rolex watches had been a craft as involved as it can get. The Cellini collection offers more than mere watch making, it gives to people what is called an experience of a lifetime, making a great deal out of the smallest details that go into constructing the finesse of the watch. The Rolex Cellini Danaos is an extremely suitable watch for those who appreciate professionalism and punctuality. The Rolex watches are crafted in a manner that makes these watches more than just a mere time keeper. Rolex Cellini watches always make it a point to cover the distance between luxury and comfort. What makes the Rolex Cellini watch a class apart from other watches is the fact that these watches are always at par with human excellence. Rolex Cellini Danaos is a watch that is a far cry from the typical luxury watches; Rolex doesn’t prioritize its design as much as it does the performance that is delivered by these watches. Torri Higginson has come a long way in her life performing nuanced characters and perfecting the art of acting to the t.

The Canadian actress has lent her acting credits to films like TekWar, the entire series of it, the award Rolex Cellini Danaos
winning film English Patient and Stargate Atlantis. She has always prioritized the importance of detailing in her character roles because the industry knows that what makes or breaks a character is the detailing that goes into the performance. The actress has also lent her acting talent to the film Jungleground. Torri Higginson has won the Gemini Award in the year 2000 for her role in The City and also grabbed the Saturn Award in 2005 for Stargate Atlantis. The actress is awaiting the release of her film Smile of April this year.

The Rolex Cellini Danaos combines a rare mix of pink and white gold in a way that maybe many watches have tried before but have not made the kind of impact that this watch has been able to make. The black dial of the watch perfectly complements that rest of the finish of the watch. The Rolex Cellini Danaos is also equipped with a brown leather strap that keeps the watch inspiring the wearer to always strive to do the best that he/she can for themselves. The watch keeping in sync with the need of the times carries a quartz movement that makes the watch a delight to own. The Rolex Cellini Danaos is extremely detailed in both its appearance and performance and like Tori Higginson knows that the success of things lies mostly in the fact that a lot of detailing has gone into perfecting it.

The Rolex Osprey Cup that is one of the three ISAF Grade 1 match race regattas is also geared up to make its debut at the 2012 Olympics that will be held in England. The teams participating in the event this year are most excited about the fact that this event presents an extremely relaxed atmosphere and teams are given the opportunity to interact with each other in a way that nullifies the need for bearing any hard feelings towards the competitors. Most of the teams that make up this year’s participants are names that have had previous experience competing in Rolex events. This year’s event shows a greater participation from teams who have competed earlier in other Rolex events, as a result of which the level of competition though lightly taken has reached higher levels.
