Jewelry Care
When worn, Jewelry often makes contact with natural oils in the skin, make-up, perspiration, dirt, and dust – in addition to household objects such as hairspray or cleansers. Over time, Jewelry therefore builds up grime or film, dulling its natural sheen. Because of this, it is recommended to not wear your Jewelry while cleaning, exercising, or showering.
To ensure maximum luster, it is recommended you clean your Jewelry every few weeks, or as needed.
To clean your Jewelry:
- First wash your own hands with soap and water. Dry them completely.
- Although there are several different methods for cleaning Jewelry, make sure to avoid any chemicals that might stain or remove the finish. Slightly soapy water is preferred to other more stringent chemicals.
- Allow the Jewelry to soak in warm, slightly soapy water for approximately 10 minutes.
- Remove the jewelry from the water and gently scrub it with a soft-bristled toothbrush. (Do not use the same toothbrush you use to brush your teeth.)
- Try to scrub with the grain of the ring.
- Rinse the jewelry in warm water.
- Pat the Jewelry dry using a soft cotton cleaning cloth. Make sure the cloth is free of lint or dirt that could potentially damage the Jewelry. (Avoid rubbing the Jewelry, as to not hurt the finish.)
- Keep each piece of Jewelry in a separate compartment or container to avoid accidently allowing pieces of Jewelry to scratch each other.
Furthermore, it is suggested that you take your Jewelry to a professional cleaner once a year for thorough cleaning.
