Aesthetic Influence and Refinement
In 1884, Founder Antoine LeCoultre measured the micrometer for the first time and created the world's most precise measuring instrument, the millionometer, capable of measuring thousandths of a millimeter. Jaeger-LeCoultre also manufactured the Atmos, the brand name of a mechanical clock that doesn’t need to be wound. It can run for years without human intervention, as it derives from minute atmospheric changes in the environment. Jaeger LeCoultre’s claim to fame is its Reverso watch collection, one of the most recognizable watches in the world. The watch was originally created for polo players because the players could easily be struck on the wrist with a club during game play, running the risk of shattering the glass of a wrist watch. Jaeger LeCoultre’s solution was creating a watch that has the ability to flip around to an all-metal backing, protecting the watch. |
